POS support & maintenance

Restaurant POS Support for Chicago-Area Restaurants

Your point-of-sale system runs your orders, your kitchen, and your payments. When it isn't set up right, or it stops working in the middle of a rush, it costs you money. MD Technology Consulting helps restaurants set up, fix, and get more out of their POS, on-site in Chicago and the northwest suburbs and remotely anywhere in the country.

POS setup and installation

A good POS setup starts before the first order. We configure the system around how your restaurant actually runs, not the default settings, so your staff isn't working around the software every shift.

Already up and running? We also clean up existing setups: messy menus, broken printer routing, and settings that were never quite right from day one.

  • Terminals, handhelds, kitchen display screens, and receipt and kitchen printers
  • Menu build: items, modifiers, pricing, taxes, and day-part menus
  • Kitchen routing, so the right tickets reach the right station
  • Floor plans, table layouts, and service areas
  • Employee roles, permissions, and tip settings

When your POS goes down during service

A frozen terminal or a kitchen printer that stops printing on a Friday night isn't an inconvenience. It's lost sales and unhappy guests. The first step is finding out what actually failed. A lot of "the POS is down" calls turn out to be a network, Wi-Fi, or hardware problem, not the POS software itself, and that changes how fast it can be fixed.

  • Fast diagnosis: many issues can be found and fixed remotely in minutes.
  • Offline mode readiness: if your POS has an offline mode, we make sure it's configured and your managers know what to do when the internet drops.
  • Hardware repair and replacement: terminals, card readers, printers, and kitchen screens.
  • Emergency support for contract clients: available during service hours, including evenings and weekends, with a 1-hour average response.

Staff training

Most POS headaches come down to training. We train your servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and managers on the parts of the system they actually use: taking and modifying orders, splitting checks, voids and comps, closing out, and running end-of-day reports. New hires get up to speed faster, and fewer small mistakes turn into calls for help.

Updates and ongoing maintenance

We keep your POS software and devices up to date, make menu and pricing changes, and adjust settings as your restaurant changes. For multi-location operators, we keep every location's setup consistent.

POS integrations

Your POS works best when it's connected to the rest of your tools. We set up and troubleshoot integrations so orders and data flow into your POS cleanly instead of being re-entered by hand.

Why work with a restaurant-only POS specialist

We work exclusively with restaurants. We know the systems, the vendors, and the pressure of a dinner rush, and we know that an hour of downtime is real money. Because we also handle networking, hardware, and integrations, we can fix the whole problem instead of pointing you to someone else.

We support all major restaurant POS platforms, and our recommendations are vendor-neutral. We'll tell you what fits your operation, not what's easiest to sell.

Pricing

Pricing
