Network setup & support
Restaurant Network & Wi-Fi Support
Your POS, handhelds, kitchen screens, online orders, and card payments all depend on your network. When it's slow or drops out, everything else stops with it. We design, set up, and maintain networks built for busy restaurants in Chicago and the northwest suburbs.
Network design and setup
Restaurants are tough on networks: lots of devices, metal kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers, thick walls, and a dining room full of guests on their phones. We plan the network around your space and your devices instead of relying on a single consumer router behind the bar.
- Network design based on your floor plan and device count
- Business-grade routers, switches, and access points
- Documented setups that the next person can understand
Wi-Fi coverage for the dining room, bar, patio, and kitchen
Handhelds that lose connection between the table and the bar slow down service and frustrate staff. We place and tune access points so coverage is solid where your team actually works, including patios, back offices, and kitchens.
Separate guest and staff networks
Guest Wi-Fi should never share a network with your POS and payment devices. We separate guest traffic from your business systems, so a dining room full of streaming phones doesn't slow down orders, and guests can't reach your payment equipment.
Firewall and security configuration
We configure firewalls and network security to protect your POS, payment devices, and business data. That includes changing default passwords, locking down remote access, and keeping network equipment updated.
Ongoing monitoring and maintenance
Monthly contract clients get proactive monitoring, so we can often spot a failing device or a connection problem before it affects service. We handle firmware updates, configuration changes, and adding new devices as your restaurant grows.
When the network goes down during service
Many "the POS is down" calls are really network problems. We diagnose quickly, often remotely, to find out whether the issue is your internet provider, your equipment, or a single device. We also make sure your POS offline mode and backup plans are ready, so a dropped connection doesn't stop you from taking orders. Contract clients get emergency support during service hours, including evenings and weekends, with a 1-hour average response.

Frequently asked questions
Can you work with our existing internet provider?
Yes. We work with the internet service you already have and focus on the equipment and setup inside your restaurant. If your connection itself is the bottleneck, we'll tell you and help you sort out options.
Do we really need a separate guest Wi-Fi network?
Yes. Keeping guests off the network your POS and payment devices use protects your systems and keeps guest traffic from slowing down orders.
Can you fix Wi-Fi dead spots on our patio or in the kitchen?
Usually, yes. Dead spots typically come from access point placement, interference, or building materials. We assess the space and adjust or add access points where needed.
Do you install network equipment on-site?
Yes. We install on-site throughout Chicago and the northwest suburbs, including Cook, Lake, McHenry, and Kane counties. For restaurants elsewhere, we can help remotely with configuration and troubleshooting.
